The North Carolina Board for Licensing of Geologists is responsible for regulating the public practice of geology in North Carolina, in accordance with North Carolina General Statute §89E, the Geologists Licensing Act.

Periodic Review of Existing Rules
N.C. Gen. Stat. § 150B-21.3A requires the NC Board for Licensing of Geologists (NCBLG) to conduct a review of its rules every ten years, determining whether each rule is necessary or unnecessary. The NCBLG determined that all current rules are necessary. The public has 60 days to review and provide comment.

2024 Meeting Schedule to be set at December 8, 2023 meeting of the Board
The 2024 meeting schedule for the NC Board for Licensing of Geologists will be set at their December 8, 2023 regularly scheduled quarterly meeting. Typically, the Board meets in late January/early February, late April, late August and early November. The meetings are set to coincide with ASBOG® exam registration windows, when applicable.
